Lazy girls guide to creating a skincare routine

Hello All,

Surely I am not the only one? The only one who really struggles to keep up a skincare routine. It was only fairly recently that I actually began to bother with a skincare routine; previously I would take my makeup off and put on a moisturiser if I could be bothered which is terrible I know but I honestly was just too lazy but I now have a routine which I follow everyday so here are my tips to creating and more importantly keeping a skincare routine.

1. Get Organised

I found that by putting all of my skincare products in one place it has encouraged me to complete the whole routine as it is all there ready and waiting. I keep mine in the bathroom as I use a cleansing balm, so you need to find a place to store all your products that is most suitable for you.

2. Find a time and place

If this is ever going to be a routine you are going to keep up it needs to become a part of your normal day to day regime. I personally chose to do it when I brush my teeth and it works well but you just need to find the time that works best for you.

3. Persevere with it

When starting a skincare routine it isn't always easy to remember or actually be bothered enough to do it but DO IT! You need to persevere and keep doing it until it becomes something you don't need to think about doing.

4. Enjoy it

This is the most important thing. Find products you like and enjoy using as this will encourage you to keep up the routine. I actually enjoy taking my makeup off at night, I find it very relaxing which makes me want to take my time with it.

So there are my tips to hopefully help you not be so lazy and start looking after your skin properly. After all it is very important to take care of your skin and although it can be a bit of a pain in the ass it is well worth it.

My next post will be about my evening skincare routine so you can see what products it is I use.

Until next time,

Beauty Haul

Hello All,

Whilst on a shopping trip recently I had a little beauty blow out and purchased some pieces from MAC (previous haul) and also from Boots. In my defence all of this was paid for with boots vouchers from my birthday.

I LOVE this stuff!! This is a repurchase and I will probably be forever repurchasing this. This is a balm you simply massage into your face and literally melts your makeup off every last bit of mascara, eyeliner, everything! I feel so clean and fresh after using this.

I have been intrigued by the benefit tints for a while and I figured what better way to test them out with adorable mini's as opposed to picking one colour. Also did I mention this is adorable! I am excited to try out all these as they all look beautiful.

I have a stippling brush from E.L.F but it's a little flimsy so I have been lusting after this one for a while. I love virtually all the real techniques brushes I own so I am very pleased to add this to my collection. I am planning on using this one for blusher and I am very excited to try this out with the Topshop cream blush in "head over heels" (my current fave).

MAC Haul

Hello All,

I had some vouchers from my birthday which I have been planning to spend for a while and finally I bit the bullet and bought some things!

Firstly I got the studio finish concealer as I really needed a heavy duty concealer to cover blemishes and scarring, I heard that this product is great for that and with the fantastic colour range there is something for everyone. I am really excited to try this and will report back soon.

I had heard this product was beautiful and then I swatched it, oh wow! This is shimmery, highlighting beautifulness and I just could not resist. I would say this is one of MAC's cult products so with only a few products in my collection so far, I figured this would be a fantastic place to start.

What is your favourite MAC product? I would love to know so I can continue to build up my MAC collection.

Would love for you to brighten my day by following me on Bloglovin'.

I have another beauty haul coming next as on this shopping trip I also paid a cheeky trip to Boots. So check back Saturday to see what I bought.

Until next time,

RebeccaAnn.

My Beauty Firsts - The Designer Lipstick!

OMG! I did it; I spent 27 euros on a lipstick making me an official crazy beauty addict.

I was in the airport, hungover and depressed to be going home from an amazing holiday with my friends when I eyed the YSL stand in duty free. Me and my friend Maquillage Magic were #feelingspendy and it happened, a YSL rouge volupte just fell into my hand. You know what the worst thing is? I'm not even sorry! I mean just look at it...

The packaging looks like it has been crafted by gods (too much? - probably) and it is just hands down the most B-E-A-UTIFUL beauty product I own. I am so pleased that I purchased this and that it is now in my life.

I will do a more in depth post on this product if you would like me to, so let me know.

As always follow me on bloglovin', instagram and twitter. Seeing a new follower always puts a smile on my face.

Until next time,

Holiday Lipstick Picks

Hello All,

I have been on two holidays recently, lucky girl I know, and being a lipstick addict it is important to make the right choices of what lipsticks to pack as unfortunately we can't take them all (you feel my pain right?)

I wanted to cover all bases with my lipstick choices so I chose a red, pink, orange and nude.

MAC - shy girl

An obvious choice really as this is my perfect nude lipstick, I literally love this stuff. Only thing I did find was that it didn't look as great with a tan as I had hoped, my face ended up being browner than my lips which was a bit odd but I still love this none the less.

Revolt matte balm - shade 205

This is such an adorable pink and looks fab with a tan, I actually wore this most nights while I was there as it matches with everything and really brightens up the face.

Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick - shade 12

This is an absolutely gorgeous orange shade and one that has been in my stash for quite a while now but I have recently fallen back in love with this. This is such a nice bright and a good formula, I liked wearing this with a fairly simple outfit.

Bourjois rouge edition velvet - hot pepper

Is it too bold a statement to say this is my perfect red? This is such a nice orange toned red and the formula is just incredible but I have raved enough about this in the past so I wi go on too much. However for a holiday lipstick I think this is great, it will obviously look fab with a tan and it's such a stand out colour it speaks for itself.

So here wear the lipsticks I chose for my holidays, what ones would you pick for your holiday?

Would love for you to follow me on bloglovin'.

Until next time,

RebeccaAnn.

Cult beauty buys: worth the hype?

For this I thought I would consider some products which are classic staples in most beauty lovers collections and are raved about by everyone and their dog. The question is are they actually worth the hype or not? I have selected 4 products from my collection that absolutely everyone raves about and I will review them to consider if they live up the the esteem thrust upon them.

La Roche Posay - Effaclar Duo

This is an anti-blemish cream designed to control blemishes, reduce shine and unclog pores among other things. I bought this as I have always had problem skin and after reading all the amazing reviews I thought this could potentially be exactly what I needed. I have persevered with this for around 2 months now and I don't feel that it has made too much of a difference, I would say that it has helped to some extent to keep the spots at bay.

Bourjois - Magic Nail Polish Remover

This is a true wonder product and I believe the first of its kind. This stuff removes nail polish in seconds and makes the whole experience of removing nail varnish a whole lot more enjoyable. There are quite a few dupes to this out on the market now, which I haven't personally tried but I would imagine they all do the same job. I think this is a staple in every beauty lovers stash.

NARS - Laguna Bronzer

I got this for Christmas last year and I must say that had it not been a present I probably wouldn't have splurged on this, but now that I own it I can honestly say I will buy this time and time again. To me this bronzer is perfect, there is a subtle shimmer which is just enough to give a glow yet it is matte enough to contour with. Although this is pricey I can most certainly understand why this is loved by so many.

Tangle Teezer

I actually bought this for my mum for Christmas and have stolen it from her (OOPS). This odd shaped device is fabulous it doesn't tug or hurt at all when brushing your hair no matter how matted.  The only issue I have with this is that it is not fantastic when your hair is really knotty, it kind of just brushes over them. Other than that I use this all the time and would never look back.

So there we are my opinion on some "cult" products, let me know if you own any of these and what you think of them. Or if you liked this post, then I could maybe create a mini series with this theme.

When this post goes up I will be sat in the sun sipping on a cocktail as I will be on holiday!!!

As always please follow me on bloglovin', instagram and twitter.

Until next time,

RebeccaAnn.

June Favourites

Hello everyone,

I have missed out favourites for a few months now so apologies for that but I haven't really felt as though I had too many favourites to rave about, this month however I have plenty to chat about.

Dove shampoo and conditioner
I know this is a little random but my mum recently picked up dove shampoo, conditioner and bodywash and I think they are seriously nice products. When I think of dove I immediately think of the classic dove soap smell (you know the one?) and thats not something I am really a fan of, but this smells amazing and left my hair super soft, I was so impressed.

Shy girl - MAC
I don't own many MAC lipsticks but I was on the hunt for the perfect nude and I figured with MAC's huge shad range I was bound to find something and sure enough I did! This shade is a beautiful peachy nude which I think compliments my skin tone really well. I wear this near enough every day. An all over winner for me and likely to be a favourite for a long time to come.

L'oreal true match foundation
I picked this up after hearing some pretty fantastic things about it and I must say this really is a lovely foundation. It is a very runny liquid, I find it is best applied with the Real Techniques miracle complexion sponge as this gives the most flawless finish. It is medium coverage and looks really lovely and dewy on the skin. They also have a pretty impressive shade range for a drugstore foundation.

Naked 3
I got this for my birthday at the beginning of the month and it was love at first swatch. I had been lusting after this for so long and it truly is just the most beautiful thing ever! I am generally not a day to day eyeshadow wearer but this has converted me and I have worn eyeshadow nearly everyday since receiving this!

Non Beauty Favourites

Birkenstocks
I recently did a post on these so check it out for more info but I am literally obsessed! I wear them all the time, they are so comfortable and I feel literally go with everything. These are most certainly a summer staple for me.

Reading //

The fault in our stars
Since finishing uni I have had a lot more spare time on my hands and I have really got back into reading. I read the fault in our stars knowing that the film was coming out soon and hearing lots of great things about it. Although a very sad book (had to put it down I cried so much) it is also very real and heartwarming, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Fractured
I have also just finished reading Fractured which was a very good book that takes some surprising twists and turns, I don't want to say much more or give too much away but a very good book and something a little different to the sort of thing I would usually choose which was nice.

Arden Rose
I thought I would start including a youtuber/blogger favourite of the month to share the love a little. Arden Rose is frickin' hilarious and she also has great style. I just love her channel and if you haven't heard of her I would recommending going and watching a few of her videos, you'll be hooked like me before long.

What products have you been loving this month? Also if you have any other book recommendations please let me know as I am going on holiday soon and need something new to sink my teeth into.
