March Favourites

Hello All,

Monthly favourites time again?! I can't quite believe how quickly these months are flying by. You guys know what I'm here to talk about so lets get to it.

Beauty

Coming into Spring I need to stop looking like a pasty ghost and start getting my tan on. I have never used gradual tan before, but after hearing Meg's Boutique raving about this I thought I would give it a go. This is so much easier than proper fake tan and doesn't smell half as bad. It has give me a really nice natural colour and there is no worry of being streaky or patchy. The only thing I am unsure of is the "soft shimmer", most of the time it's not that noticeable but there was an incident where I resembled a tanned Edward Cullen.

This stuff may stink but if it is going to help the mess that is my skin then I will use it. Tea tree is a fantastic for blemishes and it has been a really helpful product for clearing up my skin. I think that tea tree should be something that ever girl has in their beauty stash, to me it is an absolute essential.

With Spring round the corner its important that you get some lovely spring colours for your nails. I picked up this one from Rimmel which is called Ring O' Roses (how adorable) and it is a beautiful baby pink. I really like these poslishes, they are opaque in 2 coats and even though it doesn't dry in 60 seconds as it claims, it is fairly fast drying.

I have already raved about this product in my Battle of the Mattes post so I won't go on about it too much, but this product is freaking amazing!! It is my PERFECT daytime colour and the other colours in the range are also beautiful (will most certainly be purchasing some more soon). It is an all round lovely product, I especially like who easy it is to apply.

Non-Beauty

I know I am extremely late on the bandwagon here but this show is seriously incredible. Each episode is an hour and a half long which is odd but they don't actually drag on. Benedict Cumberbatch plays an excellent Sherlock and I watch series 1 and 2 in little over a week (master procrastinator).

Yet another TV show...oops. This is the classic trashy american TV that you cannot help but love. There are 10 guys and 10 gals, and the aim is for them to figure out who is their perfect match; there is love, heartbreak, fights, bitching and is highly entertaining.

This isn't a new love by any measure but recently I have been eating at Wagamama quite a lot. The food is delicious and healthy too which is always a plus. My favourite meal is Yakisoba, if you havent been to Wagamama then you need to get your butt down there a.s.a.p.

I hope March was a lovely month for you; let me know what your favourites were.

Until next time,

RebeccaAnn.

Battle of the Mattes

Hello All,

Matte lips is one probably my favourite lip look and more and more brands are jumping on the band-wagon and bringing out their own products. So here is a sample of some of the ones available and ultimately to give you my opinion of which one is the cream of the crop.

As we all know MUA is very cheap and these matte lipsticks are no different at just £1 each they are an absolute steal. Although some MUA products are really great, I cannot say that about this. It is so dry and the colour pay off is pretty poor, I mean seriously look at the difference between my lips and the lipstick. Admittedly it is matte but it is literally so drying on the lips that it's just not worth it (sorry MUA for the brutal honesty).

I really like the Kate Moss lipsticks I think they are great quality for their price (around £6) and this is no exception. It has such a beautiful vibrant colour, called Kiss of Life, and it has really good staying power. It's quite matte in appearance but not as matte as some of the others, but its not at all drying and looks lovely.

This new release from Revlon has sent the blogosphere into overdrive and so typically I had to try it for myself, I chose the shade Elusive. I literally have nothing bad to say about this product. This is the only shade I have at the moment but I would happily purchase more. This particular colour is my perfect daytime colour, its matte yet moisturising and super easy to apply. Revlon yet again have nailed another lip product.

One of the products that MAC is notorious for is their matte lipsticks and that it because they are amazing. This is the shade Flat Out Fabulous and even though they are £15 a pop I would pay it time and time again. If you want to do matte lips and do it properly then look no further. They have an endless shade range and they have incredible staying power.

Clearly Revlon and MAC are the brands which stand out to me but there are so many on the market from so many different brands that the choice really is endless.

If you were going matte, what would you choose?

Until next time,

RebeccaAnn.

SMASHBOX FULL EXPOSURE PALETTE!

I feel like I have won an award by getting my hands on this beauty, "Firstly I would like to thank my boots points for making this all possible."

So I have been saving my Boots points for quite some time now and my obsession with Boots coupons has allowed me to rack up quite a few. I have been contemplating what to buy with them and when I saw this new release and all of the hype about it by bloggers, I decided that this was the one and boy am I happy with it!

The bottom row is all matte shades and the top is all shimmer shades, they go from warm tones to cool tones and are generally lovely.

One of the things I love the most about this is that it comes with a great brush! Most brushes that come with palettes are utterly worthless and they would be better off without it but this one is absolutely lovely!

Let me know what you think of this palette, or any others you have tried.

Until next time,

RebeccaAnn.

Body Shop serum-in-oil review

Hello All,

So I picked up this little skincare beauty after hearing amazing things about it from some of my favourite bloggers and it most certainly hasn't disappointed.

It is £12 but I purchased it as part of a set for £16 which I thought was a bargain, to get more details of what else I purchased in my recent body shop trip click here.

This comes in a bottle with a pipette style applicator and is designed to recharge and replenish skin overnight to give the appearance of skin that's had a good beauty sleep.

I must say that it really does do exactly what it says on the tin. I have combination skin and so the thought of putting an oil on my face sounded alarms but it sinks into the skin wonderfully and doesn't feel oily (i'm aware that sounds ridiculous). I love this product and it really does do wonders to my skin, the only qualm I have with this is the applicator, I am yet to figure out a way to use it which doesn't result in my making a mess, but for the quality of the product I am not fussed.

Until next time,

RebeccaAnn.

Liebster Award.

Well this is awfully exciting, Lisa from thechinadolldiaries has nominated me for a Liebster Award which is ever so kind of her.

So here are the rules:

You must give 11 facts about yourself.
You must answer 11 questions given by the blogger who nominated you.
You should also write 11 questions and tag 11 other bloggers (who have under 200 followers) who will then complete them.
Then let them know that you have nominated them. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

11 facts about me:
  1. I am 19 years old
  2. I am a Gemini
  3. I have successfully won 2 giant teddy bears by guessing their name (Cuddles)
  4. I am at university studying Law, in the hopes of one day becoming a lawyer
  5. I watch more TV than is probably healthy for me
  6. It is nearly impossible for me to enter a Boots and leave empty handed
  7. I have a new found love for pink (previously my least favourite colour)
  8. I own somewhere in the region of 35 pairs of shoes (excessive I know)
  9. I am an only child
  10. My first pets were 2 goldfish called Timone and Pumba
  11. I am a major nerd and love learning random trivia (did you know that crocodiles and wallabies cannot walk backwards)
Questions from Lisa:

          1. Do you have any favourite bloggers at the moment?
I have so many bloggers that I really love to read, my ultimate favourites are probably essiebuttonviviannadoesmakeup and megsboutique
          2. Is there any kind of blog posts that are particularly interesting to you?
I LOVE empties videos, I know a lot of people think they are overdone but I love them, 1. because I am nosey and 2. because you get a full review of a product
3.What is your most loved beauty product of all time?
Oh wowzer that is a tough question! I think my favourite would have to be the Real Techniques Buffing Brush as I don't believe I could live without it, I use it every single day without fail.
4.What are your budget beauty secrets?
One of my favourite things to do is go to Savers and have a route around as you will find so many products (especially haircare) at a fraction of the price! Another is if you don't have any brow gel then spray some hairspray on a spooley and brush that through your eyebrows - works a treat!
5.If you could write a collaboration with one blogger who would it be and why?
I think it would have to be Estee from EssieButton just because I think she is absolutely hilarious! I trust her reviews of products and I love to watch her videos.
6.Do you ever buy products due to blogger hype and then completely hate them?
There are literally so many products I buy because of Blogger hype and on the whole they are good. However not all of them always float my boat, like the Pwhoar Paint from Collection - it is trying to be the Benefit Bo-ing but it's just not in my eyes.
7.What else do you do apart from blogging?
I spend pretty much all of my time studying - a law degree is a lot harder than I anticipated. So that is my life really (boring, I know).
8.How do you make sure you get a proper sleep every night?
Sleep is never a problem with me, I am an old lady at heart and I sleep solidly for at least 8 hours a night.
9.How many tech savvy gadgets do you own?
Not many really, I have the usual: laptop, camera, phone etc, but none of them are anything special. I bought myself an ipad recently which I am in love with but I am no techy.
          10. Do any of these help you with your blog?
Well I use my camera to take all my pictures, but its just an old digital camera and the picture quality isn't fab, but now I know how much I love blogging I am going to start looking for a new camera.
          11. Lastly, link me to your favourite blog post of all time, which you yourself have written!
My favourite post of mine is probably my first make-up haul

And here are my questions to you:
  1. Why did you start a blog?
  2. For your birthday would you be more likely to ask for a £50 boots voucher or a £50 topshop voucher?
  3. What is your favourite perfume?
  4. What is the most expensive make-up item you own?
  5. Lemon or Chocolate?
  6. Summer or Winter fashion?
  7. What is your favourite place you have visited?
  8. Name a place you want to visit
  9. If you could only have one make-up product what would it be?
  10. What is your favourite shop?
  11. Name your 3 favourite bloggers
Absolutely chuffed to have been nominated, I nominate:
