November Favourites

Hello All,

Long time no speak. So it has been a considerable amount of time since I last posted something and I can only apologise, I have just been so busy, time has just run away with itself.

I thought I would come back and share a favourites with you as it has been a few months since my last one. Now things have changed a little and I have really had to curb my spending habits as I have reduce the amount of hours I am working in my part time job and this equals a seriously poor Bexx. Because of this I haven't been able to try out too many new products as my bank balance just won't allow it but I have uncovered some old favourites as well as some fashion and lifestyle favourites too.

Bare minerals mineral veil powder

I stole this from my mums make-up bag as she never uses it! I really like this powder, it provides great lasting power but doesn't look cakey on the skin. Also it is transparent so there isn't any added colour here.

MAC dark deed

I got this lipstick as a gift last christmas, and quite frankly was a little scared by just how dark it was. However this month I discovered it and thought I would give it another go, and know I am in love! I just pat this in with my finger, as it is so dark a little goes a long way but it is such a gorgeous plum shade I can't believe it has taken me a year to realise it!

Body shop tea tree cool and creamy face wash

This was in my September Favourties so I won't ramble on about it too much but this stuff has reached holy grail status for me. I does an amazing job of really purifying the skin and keeping the blemishes at bay but is not at all drying, I use this every morning and absolutely love it!

Vo5 Plump it up Mousse

As I have expressed in previous posts, my hair sometimes resembles a pancake. I was a little fearful of putting mousse in my hair as I always associate it with crispy, crunchy hair from my teenage days but in an attempt to get more volume I thought I would give it a go. I put some of this on freshly washed hair and it just adds a really nice lift to the roots. This is also a heat defence - added bonus!

Benefit Posietint

I got this mini in a little set with sun beam and cha-cha tint. I was a little confused by this to start with, mostly about how to apply it so it got thrust to the back of the draw for a while. I have found that if I put it on my hand and then pat it into my cheeks, this way it leaves a really natural flush that really brightens the face.

Turtle neck jumpers

Roll neck, turtle neck, whatever you want to call them, I love them. I find them very warm but also very easy to wear and layer up. They have become my go to thing to chuck on when I am not sure what to wear.

How to get away with murder

If you haven't watched this yet, then you are seriously missing out. I know I am a law student so this immediately appealed to me, but I do really think it would appeal to a lot of people. It is set in a university law school and is based around 4 law students who have murdered someone. It is a true murder mystery, I am now 6 episodes in an still none the wiser as to who killed the victim and why!

So there it is, my monthly favourites. I seriously cannot believe it is nearly the end of 2014, I know we all say it every year but this one really has flown by. I will try my best to start uploading regular posts again.

Until next time,

RebeccaAnn.

First Impressions // Bourjois 1,2,3 CC Cream

Hello All,

I ran out of both of my favourite drugstore foundations at the same time (the L'oreal True Match and Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum), and was in a predicament over which one to repurchase first. So when I was in Boots and saw that Bourjois had a 2 for £14 offer on, my mind was made up. With an offer like that I thought it would be rude not to pick up the Bourjois 1,2,3 CC Cream as I had heard so many things about it.

I have used this 2 or 3 times now and I am really impressed so far. It is quite thick and creamy in texture and is more like a foundation than a CC cream. It has a light to medium coverage and adds a really lovely glow to the skin, for me I sometimes find it too shiny on my skin type but with a little powder it looks fab.

This is great as it can be worn pretty much on it's own if you are having a lazy day as I find that it really does even out the complexion so when you want minimal make-up this pretty much gives you everything you need.

Until next time,

RebeccaAnn.

The Budget (but beautiful) Blazer

Hello All,

I have been on the hunt for a casual black blazer for some time now and when I found this with a £14.99 price tag, I was basically running for the tills.

It fits well and is long which is a style I really like. I would say that a black blazer is an essential in every girls wardrobe and for £14.99 this is a steal.

I don't really have too much else to say about it, except go and get yourself one!

September Favourites

Hello All,

So as I sit here on a Friday night waiting to pick up my drunken mother (you're jealous I know), I thought I would share with you my favourites of this month.

Tea Tree Creamy Face Wash

My one and only skincare favourite of the month is this face wash from the BodyShop. I use this pretty much daily in the morning and since using it my skin has improved massively. The tea tree in this does fantastic things for your skin and because it is creamy it isn't too harsh on your skin.

No.7 Single Eyeshadow - Truffle

I have been using this all over the lid pretty much every day and it is so so pretty. Its glittery but not too glittery and just very easy to wear. Also as it is small it is very travel friendly!

Sleek Blush - Rose Gold

I have had this blush for quite some time now and it is just B-E-A-UTIFUL! It has, as the name would suggest, gold in it, so it acts as a blush/highlight hybrid and it perks up the face very subtly.

Soap&Glory - Solar Powder

My beloved NARS Laguna bronzer had been running low, so I picked this up not being able to afford the hefty price tag of Laguna. This is all kinds of pretty and is great for contouring and generally warming up the complexion.

Carmex

I own so many of these and there is always one in my handbag. I feel that for me this is the only lip balm that I can feel working. I know it smells pretty nasty but if it is going to make my lips silky smooth then that is a price I am willing to pay.

Bath and Body Works - Honolulu Sun Pocket Bac

I wish there was a way you could smell this, it is like holiday in a hand sanitizer. One of the best things about this is that the smell really lingers, which is lovely and it smells so much nicer than your average alcohol anti-bac.

So there it is, my favourites for the month. Let me know what your favourites have been as I would love to try them out.

Until next time,

Beauty Wishlist

Hello All,

Sorry for being a little MIA recently, I have been feeling slightly uninspired lately and also rather busy, but I am back and will be trying my best to bring you regular posts.

Right, now I cannot be the only one who has started making a Christmas List, maybe I am but I just like to think of myself as organised. Regardless of how weird it may be, I have put together a Beauty Wishlist of the things I will be asking Santa for this year.

NARS SheerGlow

This was on my last beauty wishlist and it is here once again as I sadly still do not own this. It seems to be every bbloggers holy grail foundation and I simply need to try this. I am a huge foundation lover and I have read enough about this to know that it will be love at first application. I just need to get my hands on it.

Bumble&Bumble Texture Hair (un)dressing Creme

I suffer with flat, lifeless hair and am willing to try anything and everything that gives my hair texture and volume. This product seems completely different to anything else I have ever used as it is designed to give hair that "I woke up like this" feel, which is something I lust after. It is pricey but if I worked then it would be well worth the price tag.

Naked Flushed Palette

These were released earlier this year and I have been wanting it ever since. It is such a perfect little compact with a gorgeous bronzer, highlighter and blush all wrapped up in some pretty package...what more needs to be said?

MAC 217 Brush

I don't feel like I am able to call myself a true beauty addict until I own one of these. Dubbed the perfect blending brush, I have some seriously high expectations for this brush, I have come so close to buying this on so many occasions but sensible Bexx always steps in.

Charlotte Tilbury Eyeshadow Quad in Bronze Goddess

WOW, just wow. This is luxury at it's finest. I went into Selfridges the other day whilst in Birmingham to have a little swatch of the different palettes and generally drool over the beauty of all of the products. My Christmas List will simply say "anything Charlotte Tilbury" but I think this Bronze Goddess Quad is just perfection.

Please let me know what products you are lusting over and also if you own any of these products let me know what you think of them! I would love to know if you think they are worthy of my wishlist.

Until next time,

RebeccaAnn.

The PERFECT University Bag

Hello All,

I am in LOVE!  Zara, you have done yourself proud with this little beauty.

I have been on the hunt for a new bag for uni, which may not seem like a difficult task; but with a laptop as large as mine plus an 1000 page text book, it is more difficult than it may first seem.

When I saw this bag online, I thought it look fantastic, very simple and chic. Not something I would get bored of easily which is important. Then it arrived...I squealed with excitement. Sad I know to get so excited over a bag, but I was just so impressed, Zara got this spot on!

Body Shop Haul

So there was a 40% off code online for the Body Shop and there have been so many things I have been wanting to try from there that I just decided it was time. I could have easily gone crazy on there so I am rather proud of myself for only picking up 3 items.

Firstly I got the Vitamin E AquaBoost Sorbet. This is a new release and I had read lots of fabulous things about it so I thought it would be rude not to try it out myself. I have been suffering with quite dry skin lately for some wierd reason and so I wanted a moisturiser that was super hydrating and this seems to do the job quite wonderfully.

Secondly the Tea tree cool & creamy face wash was a must purchased enabled by EssieButton. My skin is constantly breaking out so I wanted something that would keep the spots at bay and this sounded great as it is non-drying but still has all the spot fighting qualities of tea tree.

Lastly is this wierd little invention, which I bought mostly because it intrigued me so much. This is a Facial Massager, which I have used a few times and I must say I am not sold on it yet. If anyone has any suggestions on how to use this then let me know.

So there it is my little Body Shop Haul. I think I deserve a pat on the back for only buying these things and not more from my rather long lust list.

Please follow me on Bloglovin' to stay up to date with all my posts.

Until next time,

RebeccaAnn.

August Favourites

Another month has passed, so we know what time it is! Sorry that I missed July favourites but I just didn't have enough products to talk about to make it worth while.

Topshop Cream Blush in Head Over Heels

I was scared of the thought of a cream blush at first, it was something I didn't really understand but I had read so much about them that I felt I should try one out. I chose this beautiful peachy from Topshop and have fallen head over heels (pardon the pun). I apply this with the Real Techniques stippling brush and it gives such a lovely colour to the cheeks but still looks natural. The only down side is that these get disgustingly dirty, it seems to attract hairs and dust.

Benefit Watt's Up Highlighter

With it being summer I like my makeup to look a little glowier than normal (we are just going to pretend glowier is a word); and Watt's Up is the product that achieves this. This is a cream highlight that is a beautiful colour and blends so seamlessly. I have recently purchased MAC's Soft and Gentle mineralize skin finish but haven't tested this enough to know whether I love it as much as Watt's Up but I will get back to you on that on.

Soap and Glory Smoothie Milk

This is probably my favourite ever smell, I cannot get enough, it is just....WOW! If you haven't smelt this, next time you are in Boots I urge you to head to the Soap & Glory counter and give this a whif, you will not be disappointed. Anyway, I have been moisturising a lot recently in an attempt to not peel after coming back from holiday and this has been my product of choice, not only because it smells like it was created by angels, but also because the pump allows for easy application and it sinks into the skin very quickly.

Topshop Nail Polish in Collegiate

Topshop nail polishes are among the best in my opinion. This is a beautiful orangey red and I have been reaching for this colour a lot, it looked great with a tan when I came back off holiday too!

Botanics Hydrating Day Cream

I picked this up randomly as I had run out of day cream and this was cheap and cheerful. This has an extremely runny formula but it is very hydrating, I have been suffering with some dry patches on my skin recently and this has really been helping to combat them. For the price, it can't really be faulted. It also has the added bonus of an SPF!

So there you are my August Favourites, can't believe thats another one out of the way. I have been blogging for over 7 months now, I am still loving it and really do appreciate any support I get, I means a lot.

If you enjoyed this and would like to see more then please follow me on Bloglovin'.

Until next time,

Battle of the Concealers

I'm back with another battle of as I haven't done one of these in a few months, if you want to check out the other ones in this series then I will link them all below.

Concealer is probably my favourite make up product as it masks all those pesky spots, dark circles, scars...the lot. There are a lot of different concealers on the market that all serve different purposes, and it can become quite confusing. So here I am to the rescue to hopefully help you find the concealer that suits you best. I will score each concealer out of 5 on: lasting power, coverage and blendability.

This has been my most recent concealer purchase as I was in desperate need of something to cover my blemishes after a major breakout. This stuff is seriously high coverage, the highest of all the ones I own and it really does a great job of hiding blemishes and redness. It has good lasting power, it fades slightly through the day but doesn't completely disappear. For application I apply this with the Real Techniques Detailer Brush, pinpointing the areas that need covering and blend it with the RT Deluxe Crease Brush, I find that this gives the most flawless finish. As it is MAC they have a huge shade range, so there will be a shade to suit all skin tones.

Lasting Power: 4/5
Coverage: 5/5
Blendability: 3/5

Okay, so mine is well loved to say the least. From new this comes with 2 shades, a pinky tone to hide dark circles, and a yellow tone for redness and blemishes, and to top it all off there is also a translucent setting powder. I think this has great lasting power, especially if you use the setting powder. I used up the pink toned concealer a while ago, but must have enjoyed it as I have scraped every last piece from it. The yellow toned one is amazing! It is super creamy so just melts into the skin, but still provides great coverage. I would highly recommend this for people who are looking for an all in one concealer.

Lasting Power: 4/5
Coverage: 4/5
Blendability: 5/5

This is a blogger favourite, it is so cheap yet so great. This is good enough to be used both under eyes and for blemishes. This is heavy enough to cover blemishes but light enough to not cake under the eyes, this stuff has a perfect consistency. If you pick this up you will not be disappointed, especially not for the price.

Lasting Power: 3/5
Coverage: 4/5
Blendability: 4/5

I treated myself to this in duty free and originally I didn't like it at all. I think it was due to my own ignorance, this is a CORRECTOR not a CONCEALER, so don't expect it to work like one. This has quite a sticky consistency, I find it best to use your finger as it warms the product up and just place this on the inner corner and it just brightens up the face. I have really grown to love this product.

Lasting Power: 4/5
Coverage: 3/5
Blendability: 4/5

I think this is supposed to be a dupe of Benefit's Bo-ing. This is really heavy coverage but for some reason I just cannot get along with this. It doesn't blend very well, and although it is heavy coverage I find the lack of blendability makes it look cakey.

Lasting Power: 3/5
Coverage: 3/5
Blendability: 1/5

So there it is, my battle of the concealers. If I had to pick just one it would probably be the Soap & Glory Kick-Ass Concealer as it is everything you could need and want all in one.

Hope this has helped some of you, if you enjoyed this then please follow me on Bloglovin' as it always puts a smile on my face.

Until next time,

RebeccaAnn.

The nail polish you NEED in your life.

I am going to make a bold statement so be prepared...the Seche Vite fast dry top coat is my best beauty buy this year.

I picked this up in Boots, being fed up with painting my nails and them being smudged or chipped within 10 minutes. I am a nightmare when it comes to painting my nails and this has literally saved my nails life.

You know when nails are "dry" but then you do something and end up with a pattern imprinted on them, well this stuff conquers that problem. This is dry within 2 minutes and it will not budge.

Granted I was reluctant to spend £9 on it but I have no regrets, this stuff is the shiz, yes the shiz.

Please follow me on bloglovin' as it will brighten my day.

Until next time,

RebeccaAnn.

First Impressions // Rimmel Brow this Way

Hello All,

I bought this product the other day; 1. because it was on offer for just £2.99, 2. because it looked like a dupe for Benefit's Gimme Brow, 3. because I was enabled by my friend Maquillage Magic as she had it in her basket so I needed it in mine.

I have been experimenting with my brows a little recently and trying to go them out a little too. I have been putting less product in them and trying to make them look more natural, as I usually would fill them in with Benefit's BrowZings.

I have used Brow this Way from Rimmel for 3 days now so I thought I give you my first impressions of it.

I must say I am highly impressed by this product! It adds enough colour to the brows to fill them in and add definition but still remaining natural. It is super duper quick and easy, like it takes under a minute. I was also surprised to find that it doesn't leave your eyebrows crusty, as being a gel type formula I really thought it would, but you seriously cannot for the product in there I was amazed!

There are a few tiny things about this that haven't blown me away however. Firstly the formula is quite wet so be careful when applying it as there is a risk of ending up with excess product above and below your brows. The other thing is the shades, I have the shade medium blonde which is perfect but medium blonde? really? I most certainly would not call my hair blonde. So be sure to check the shades rather than relying on the shade names.

Overall I think this product is amazing so far and I am really enjoying using it.

Please follow me on Bloglovin' to keep up with all my new posts!

Until next time,

RebeccaAnn.

Evening skincare routine

Hello All,

So following my top tips for creating a skincare routine (which I hope you enjoyed), I thought I would share with you the products that I like to use in my current skincare routine. My skin is combination, oily in my t-zone with some dry patches. I also have been suffering with pretty bad breakouts on the sides of my cheeks.

Clinique Take the Day Off Balm

I have spoken of my love for this product many times, its fragrance free, light and does an incredible job of removing every last speck of makeup. It is so calming massaging this in and just feeling the makeup melt away. It is pricey but well worth it for the effects it has.

Neutrogena visibly clear, rapid clear treatment

Like I said I have been suffering with pretty much constant breakouts for some time now and I know these products are gimmicky and probably don't work, for example this doesn't visibly reduce spots in 24 hours but I use it anyway and I don't really know why. I don't stick religiously to this product but some form of spot treatment is necessary for me.

No.7 Protect & Perfect Night Cream

I stole this one off my mum as I didn't have one and didn't want to spend the money, which is bad I know. This is an extremely intense and quite heavy night cream that really moisturises well. In all honesty it is probably a little too heavy for my skin type and once it is gone, I doubt I will repurchase this.

Benefit It's Potent Eye Cream

I got this for Christmas and used it occasionally but now my skincare routine is in full swing I slather this stuff on every night. I suffer with puffy under eyes and this really helps to soothe them. At the end of the day this is pricey for just an eye cream and I am sure there are drugstore alternatives which will do the same job.

I know this isn't the most comprehensive of skin care routines but it is a start. If anyone has a toner they would like to suggest to me then please let me know as well as any good night creams you have discovered.

Please follow me on bloglovin' or leave me a comment as it really does brighten my day.

Until next time,

RebeccaAnn.

Just a little Revlon haul

I went into Boots today to pick up something for my mum and of course came out with something for myself. There are a tonne of offers on in Boots at the moment and the one I was most drawn to was Revlon who were offering buy on get one half price. I simply adore Revlon lip products, all the ranges I have tried are incredible and so I figured why not get some more to add to my unhealthily large collection?

Firstly I got the Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle, I swatched this on my hand and made a small gasp at its beauty. Its a pinky nude but darker than usual and I just thought it would look beautiful with my tan.

And secondly I got the Revlon Matte Balm in Unapologetic. My first matte balm was in the shade Elusive and I have raved about it endlessly. It is so easy to apply, non-drying and has great lasting power. I have been eyeing up Unapologetic for the longest time as it is such a beautiful bold pink and seeing as the offer was on, I thought I would just bite the bullet and I am so glad I did.

This was an impromptu post but I will be uploading my evening skincare routine as promised tomorrow, which is to go along side my "Lazy Girls Guide to Creating a Skincare Routine".

Please follow me on Bloglovin' as it always brightens my day.

Until next time,

Lazy girls guide to creating a skincare routine

Hello All,

Surely I am not the only one? The only one who really struggles to keep up a skincare routine. It was only fairly recently that I actually began to bother with a skincare routine; previously I would take my makeup off and put on a moisturiser if I could be bothered which is terrible I know but I honestly was just too lazy but I now have a routine which I follow everyday so here are my tips to creating and more importantly keeping a skincare routine.

1. Get Organised

I found that by putting all of my skincare products in one place it has encouraged me to complete the whole routine as it is all there ready and waiting. I keep mine in the bathroom as I use a cleansing balm, so you need to find a place to store all your products that is most suitable for you.

2. Find a time and place

If this is ever going to be a routine you are going to keep up it needs to become a part of your normal day to day regime. I personally chose to do it when I brush my teeth and it works well but you just need to find the time that works best for you.

3. Persevere with it

When starting a skincare routine it isn't always easy to remember or actually be bothered enough to do it but DO IT! You need to persevere and keep doing it until it becomes something you don't need to think about doing.

4. Enjoy it

This is the most important thing. Find products you like and enjoy using as this will encourage you to keep up the routine. I actually enjoy taking my makeup off at night, I find it very relaxing which makes me want to take my time with it.

So there are my tips to hopefully help you not be so lazy and start looking after your skin properly. After all it is very important to take care of your skin and although it can be a bit of a pain in the ass it is well worth it.

My next post will be about my evening skincare routine so you can see what products it is I use.

Please follow me on Bloglovin', it always puts a smile on my face.

Until next time,

RebeccaAnn.

Beauty Haul

Hello All,

Whilst on a shopping trip recently I had a little beauty blow out and purchased some pieces from MAC (previous haul) and also from Boots. In my defence all of this was paid for with boots vouchers from my birthday.

I LOVE this stuff!! This is a repurchase and I will probably be forever repurchasing this. This is a balm you simply massage into your face and literally melts your makeup off every last bit of mascara, eyeliner, everything! I feel so clean and fresh after using this.

I have been intrigued by the benefit tints for a while and I figured what better way to test them out with adorable mini's as opposed to picking one colour. Also did I mention this is adorable! I am excited to try out all these as they all look beautiful.

I have a stippling brush from E.L.F but it's a little flimsy so I have been lusting after this one for a while. I love virtually all the real techniques brushes I own so I am very pleased to add this to my collection. I am planning on using this one for blusher and I am very excited to try this out with the Topshop cream blush in "head over heels" (my current fave).

Please follow me on bloglovin', instagram and twitter to brighten up my day a little.

Until next time,

MAC Haul

Hello All,

I had some vouchers from my birthday which I have been planning to spend for a while and finally I bit the bullet and bought some things!

Firstly I got the studio finish concealer as I really needed a heavy duty concealer to cover blemishes and scarring, I heard that this product is great for that and with the fantastic colour range there is something for everyone. I am really excited to try this and will report back soon.

I had heard this product was beautiful and then I swatched it, oh wow! This is shimmery, highlighting beautifulness and I just could not resist. I would say this is one of MAC's cult products so with only a few products in my collection so far, I figured this would be a fantastic place to start.

What is your favourite MAC product? I would love to know so I can continue to build up my MAC collection.

Would love for you to brighten my day by following me on Bloglovin'.

I have another beauty haul coming next as on this shopping trip I also paid a cheeky trip to Boots. So check back Saturday to see what I bought.

Until next time,

RebeccaAnn.
